Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs are well known all over the world. Although he is known mainly for his architecture, the architect himself considered his stained glass “light screens” an integral part of his designs, and created hundreds of stunning windows over the course of his lifetime.

Here are some of the attributes of this beautiful work: clean simple lines, vivid colors, and predominantly clear panels with bits and splashes of color setting off the lines. It’s understated yet dramatic at the same time. Although most of Lloyd Wright’s stained glass was created between 1900 and the 1930s, it’s from a different era, a different century, and yet somehow it manages to remain classic and timeless and ever current. Frank Lloyd Wright was truly a master of design and a master of stained glass style. There’s absolutely no doubt as to why he was honored, posthumously in 1991, as “The Greatest American Architect of all Time” by the American Institute of Architects.
